RECOGNITION OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE.
The following members have been recognised for outstanding services to the Gilles Plains Lions Club and to Lionism in general.
The club is justly proud of its six Melvin Jones Fellowship Award recipients - these fellowships are only granted to dedicated Lions who have shown exceptional service to Lionism. Melvin Jones was the founder of Lions.
The William R Tresise Fellow Award, presented to a Lion nominated by his club for meritorious service is named after the Founder of Lions in Australia and regarded as the most prestigious of the Australian Lions awards.
James D Richardson was the first Australian International Director of Lions International and was one of the most dedicated and respected early leaders of Lions in Australia, The James D Richardson Honour Award is presented to recipients who have shown outstanding and dedicated service to Lions and the Community.
